CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has run a 4.41-second time in the 40-yard dash at Clemson in front of New York Jets coach Rex Ryan and personnel from 31 NFL teams.
Hopkins, 6-foot-1, 214-pounds, was the top attraction among the 12 ex-Tigers who worked out Thursday. Only the Chicago Bears didn't have a representative on hand in the team's recently opened indoor football facility.
Hopkins set several school records last season, finishing with 82 catches for 1,405 yards. He also caught an Atlantic Coast Conference record 18 touchdowns. Never the fastest receiver, Hopkins ran a 4.57-second 40 at the NFL combine last month. He bettered that in both his attempts at this session, putting up his fastest time on his second run.
Hopkins also was crisp in pass-catching drills.
