(Madison, Wisconsin) Thursday, June 21, 2012 ?Boys & Girls Club of Dane County (BGCDC) in partnership with MadisonScuba will launching its Scuba Diving Program. This program will give Club members the opportunity to participate in scuba diving lessons.? Instructors will teach our kids about the equipment used to dive and allow them to spend the majority of the class in the water.? This new partnership came from MadisonScuba divers who were eager to give back to the community.? BGCDC Board member and Partner at Wipfli LLP, Steve Lipton led them to the club.? ?How authentic of an opportunity is this for our kids?? says John Suggs, Chief Operating Officer at Boys & Girls Club of Dane County.
?Boys & Girls Clubs is exciting to be partnering with MadisonScuba.? The kids in our community will get a once in a lifetime experience that they might not otherwise have.? We at BGCDC are committed to exposing our kids to enriching programs such as this.? We believe that through these encounters they will be better equipped to realize their full potential,? says Michael Johnson, CEO of BGCDC.
The scuba dive program will commence at Sun Prairie High School on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm.? The program will continue monthly with sessions being offered twice per month during July and August. ?Since 2/3 of the planet is water, there is a lot more of world you can explore and scuba diving opens the door to that exploration,? said Barry Gidal, Instructor for MadisonScuba.? ?You can make a career out of diving with a 6-figure starting salary.?
