(AP) ? What Would Steve Have Done? It's a question that Apple CEO Tim Cook can't escape. From the naming of the new iPad to his choice of clothing at public events, company-watchers parse Cook's every move, looking for differences between him and the company's revered founder Steve Jobs.

But Cook seems determined to stamp his own legacy on the world's most valuable company. In the biggest break from Jobs' philosophy since Cook succeeded him as CEO seven months ago, Apple is dipping into its nearly $100 billion cash stash to start paying a quarterly dividend of $2.65 per share to its stockholders.

The commitment announced Monday draws a clear line of demarcation between Cook and Jobs.

"This is indicative of the changing of the guard at Apple," says ISI Group analyst Brian Marshall. "I don't think this would have happened under Steve Jobs. This clearly shows Tim Cook is his own man."

Jobs hoarded cash like a man afraid of running out of it. Plagued by memories of Apple's flirtation with bankruptcy in the late 1990s, he steadfastly resisted calls for the company to pay a dividend. Jobs never wanted Apple to be so destitute that it would need financial help, as it did in 1997 when he negotiated a $150 million infusion from rival Microsoft Corp.

With Cook in charge, Apple is now ready to herald a new era and dole out about $10 billion in dividends each year. It's an amount that Apple can easily afford, given the size of its current bank account and the billions more pouring in amid feverish demand for its iPhones, iPads and iPods.

Obviously, no one knows what Jobs would have thought about Apple paying a dividend. He died Oct. 5 after a long battle with cancer. It's unclear whether he had softened his stance on the dividend by the time he resigned as CEO last August.

The dividend decision didn't fall entirely to Cook. It required the approval of Apple's eight-member board of directors, which hasn't changed in the past year except for the addition of Cook and the loss of Jobs. Cook joined the board when he became CEO.

Apple's board had been discussing a possible dividend since at least January, based on what Cook has publicly told analysts and Apple shareholders.

Analysts and investors viewed the dividend as a sign of Cook's willingness to listen to shareholders.

"The new management is very shareholder friendly, and it has been very nice to see," says Sterne Agee analyst Shaw Wu.

Longtime Apple shareholder Asif Khan believes the dividend suggests that Cook is serious about honoring one of Jobs' final bits of advice. Based on published accounts, Cook told Apple employees at an Oct. 19 memorial that Jobs wanted management to "just do what's right" instead of trying to figure out what the company's late leader would have done.

"It's an intriguing moment in Apple's history because this is a departure from Steve's philosophy," says Khan, whose family has accumulated 20,000 Apple shares since 1997 when Jobs returned to the company. Cook "is changing the culture of the company just a little bit, but in a good way. Everything I have seen him do so far seems to be making Apple into a kinder and gentler company."

Before Apple's dividend announcement, Cook's most significant change from the Jobs' regime had been to introduce a company program that matched employee donations to charities of up to $10,000.

Cook, who worked closely with Jobs since joining Apple in 1998, has made it clear he still intends to hew to the vision of his predecessor and mentor. Just last month, Cook told Apple shareholders that he still thinks of Jobs every day he goes to work.

Forgetting Jobs would be nearly impossible for Cook to do anyway, given the comparisons that are regularly made between the two. Some Apple fans even comment on how Cook's fashion tastes deem to differ from Jobs, who adopted a pair of jeans and a mock black turtleneck as his daily uniform. Cook seems to favor button-up shirts in his public appearances.

Cook hasn't come close to matching Jobs' panache. The missing pizazz stood out earlier this month at Apple's unveiling of its latest iPad. Cook spent relatively little amount of time on stage, leaving most of the presentation to several of his top lieutenants. "Steve was a vibrant and charismatic figurehead, so it's really not fair to compare Tim's persona to that," says Creative Strategies analyst Tim Bajarin, who has been following Apple for 32 years.

Apple didn't even bother anointing the third-generation iPad with a distinctive name, prompting some Apple pundits to wonder whether the company might have tried to come up with something more creative if Jobs were still running things.

Not that it mattered. The latest iPad set a new sales record during its first weekend in stores, Cook said during a Monday conference call to discuss the dividend.

That's just the latest example of Apple's growing prosperity under Cook's leadership.

The company's stock price has soared 60 percent since Cook became CEO to propel Apple's market value to $560 billion ? the most in the world. The shares hit a new high Monday before closing at $601.10, up $15.53. In Apple's first quarter following Jobs' death, the company generated more revenue than any other three-month period in its 36-year history.

Apple is doing so well now that analyst Wu expects Apple to add another $70 billion to $85 billion to its cash hoard this year. That works out to an average of $1.3 billion to $1.6 billion in cash per week.

"You would have to give Tim an 'A plus' as CEO so far," Bajarin says. "This is probably the best transition in corporate leadership that we have ever seen. And you really have to give Steve credit for that. He really spent the last four years of his life making sure the company would be prepared to carry on without him."

Odd Future, With Earl Sweatshirt, Set To Invade 'RapFix Live'

Tyler, the Creator and company will probably run amok on 'RapFix Live' Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com.

Call security and alert the censors, because Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All will invade "RapFix Live" on Wednesday. Tyler, the Creator, Hodgy Beats, Left Brain, Domo Genesis, Mike G., Syd tha Kid, Matt Martians, Jasper Dolphin, Taco and Earl Sweatshirt will all camp out on the "RapFix" couch for a rare interview.

The group broke through in February 2011, when Tyler and Hodgy famously performed their single "Sandwitches" on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and have been on a meteoric rise ever since. Sadly, Earl Sweatshirt, who helped lay the groundwork for the group, wasn't around to experience it. The then-exiled teen was sent to an all-boys military school in Samoa, but now Earl is back home and will be on "RapFix Live."

On Tuesday (March 20), the squad is releasing The OF Tape, Vol. 2 on their own Odd Future Records. The video for the LP's first single, "Rella," already has already amassed more than 9 million views in a month on YouTube and features Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis and Tyler running amok and terrorizing residents in a suburban community. The Tape's second video, for "NY (Ned Flander)," is just as zany, with Tyler appearing as a rapping baby.

While Tyler is without a doubt the most popular of the crew, each member has either a solo project or off-shoot group projects in the works. Hodgy Beats and Left Brain for MellowHype and are prepping their upcoming album Numbers, while Syd Tha Kid and Matt Martians released their Purple Naked Ladies album in December under the moniker the Internet. Domo Genesis, Mike G and OF singer/songwriter Frank Ocean all have upcoming projects in the works.

If we're lucky, the crew will also talk about their upcoming sketch comedy television series "Loiter Squad," which premieres on Cartoon Network on March 25, but when it comes to Odd Future, there is really no telling.

Catch odd Future on "RapFix Live" Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com, and be sure to join the Twitter conversation using the hashtags #RapFixLive. Send your questions for the artists to @MTVRapFiX!

Carvin drops out of race to challenge Gillibrand

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) ? Republican Rye Town supervisor Joe Carvin has dropped out of the race to challenge New York's Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.

Carvin made the announcement Friday morning as Republicans gathered in Rochester to pick an officially designated Senate candidate.

That leaves Nassau County comptroller George Maragos, New York City attorney Wendy Long and U.S. Rep. Bob Turner still in the field.

Carvin had been lagging behind in party support.

He says he initially got into the race when only Maragos had announced and he wanted to give GOP voters in the state a choice of candidates.

Young adults less interested in community issues, politics and environment, finds new research

WASHINGTON The times are changing, and not necessarily for the better when it comes to giving back to society, according to 40 years of research on 9 million young adults. Since the baby boomer generation, there has been a significant decline among young Americans in political participation, concern for others and interest in saving the environment, according to a new study published by the American Psychological Association.

"Popular views of the millennial generation, born in the 1980s and 1990s, as more caring, community-oriented and politically engaged than previous generations are largely incorrect, particularly when compared to baby boomers and Generation X at the same age," said the study's lead author, Jean Twenge, PhD, a psychology professor at San Diego State University and author of the book, "Generation Me." "These data show that recent generations are less likely to embrace community mindedness and are focusing more on money, image and fame." The study was published online this month in APA's Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.

The findings did show that millennials were more likely than baby boomers or Generation Xers to volunteer during high school and to say that they intend to participate in community service in college. However, the authors contend that this trend is most likely related to schools' requiring community service for graduation, which has been cited in numerous studies. The desire to save the environment, an area considered to be of particular concern to millennials, showed some of the largest declines, with three times as many millennials as baby boomers at the same age saying they made no personal effort to help the environment. Fifty-one percent of millennials said they made an effort to cut down on electricity use to save energy, compared to 68 percent of boomers in the 1970s.

Twenge and her colleagues analyzed data from the University of Michigan's Monitoring the Future study of high school seniors, conducted continuously since 1975, and the American Freshman survey by UCLA's Higher Education Research Institute of entering college students since 1966. Both surveys included items on life goals, concern for others, and civic and community involvement.

In the American Freshman survey, the proportion of students who said being wealthy was very important to them increased from 45 percent for baby boomers (surveyed between 1966 and 1978) to 70 percent for Generation Xers (surveyed between 1979 and 1999) and 75 percent for millennials (surveyed between 2000 and 2009). Likewise, the proportion who said it was important to keep up to date with political affairs decreased, from 50 percent for boomers to 39 percent for Generation Xers and 35 percent for millennials. "Becoming involved in programs to clean up the environment" decreased, from 33 percent for boomers to 20 percent for millennials. "Developing a meaningful philosophy of life" decreased the most across generations, from 73 percent for boomers to 45 percent for millennials.

"These data suggest that the 'Me Generation' label affixed to the baby boomers was unwarranted. In comparison to the proceeding generations, the boomers look significantly more selfless," Twenge said. "The generational trends toward more political disengagement, less environmental concern and more materialistic values could have a meaningful impact on society. It will be interesting to see how millennials are affected by the recent recession and whether future generations will reverse the trends. "

People enroll in NLP courses to help them be guided in a certain change in their personality, and because of the positive results, they tend to stay and study more. While undergoing NLP, a person learns to understand his personality and behavior more, leading to a positive and productive change in his life. You can also influence people around you using your persuasion or hypnosis skills or you can train other people as a coach or trainer.

New iPad pre-orders not shipping for 2-3 weeks

20 hrs.

Bad news for folks who want a new iPad, but haven't pre-ordered it just yet: Apple's website indicates that it'll be?two to three weeks before the shiny new toy is shipped to you.

When Apple initially began taking pre-orders for the new iPad, the shipping date for the device matched its release date ??March 16.?As Reuters explains, that date shifted to March 19 over the weekend, thanks to "stronger-than-expected demand."

And now there's not even a precise shipping date anymore. Just a simple note that it'll take "2-3 weeks" for any new?iPad pre-orders to ship.

This iPad release doesn't mark the first time we've seen Apple re-adjust the shipping dates on product?pre-orders, of course. Similar (and temporary) product shortages occurred when the iPad 2 and iPhone 4 were released as well.

Oh, and keep in mind that this shipping delay should not affect you if you pre-ordered your iPad prior to the shipping date change.?

MRI Results | Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer

No news is good news when it comes to test results. I didn?t hear anything all week and found out yesterday that my MRI was all clear. What a huge relief! I had my appt yesterday with my medical oncologist. She is wonderful and my favorite doctor. It isn?t because she hugs me every time she sees me, though that does help. It?s because I can tell that she cares about what happens to me and she listens to my symptoms, fears, etc. and has intelligent, thoughtful and easy-to-understand answers.

Yesterday she and I talked a lot about a secondary medical condition I have called uterine fibroids. When I was 25 I was diagnosed with the fibroids when I had extremely heavy bleeding and awful abdominal pain. I had a surgery called a myomectomy and at the time, the doctors weren?t sure if they would need to do a hysterectomy instead. It was a terrifying experience and I thought it would be the worst medical condition I would ever suffer ? at least in my 20s. Obviously we know I was wrong about that! Anyway, the fibroids are growing back now and are very large again ? about 7cm for one and 6cm for the other big one. Then there are smaller ones. They are at the point where I can feel the pressure in my abdomen sometimes, especially when I lie on my belly.

It?s always a hassle to have medical problems, but having more than one certainly complicates things. Part of the treatment leading up to and after a myomectomy is taking an estrogen supplement. I can?t take this because my tumor was estrogen positive. Any new surgeon I would work with for my fibroids would need to be in contact with my medical oncologist. It?s exhausting talking about work-arounds and risks.

And then there are fertility questions ? as if the chemotherapy and breast cancer weren?t enough of a complication. I have no real answers at the moment, just questions that can?t be answered, such as: Will the fibroids continue to grow? Will they grow faster or slower when I stop taking tamoxifen next summer? Will they cause enough pain for me to have another myomectomy? Will I choose to have a hysterectomy instead, to eliminate the need for additional surgeries? Will a hysterectomy?happen anyway?because the fibroids have infiltrated my uterus too completely? I have no answers to any of these questions, so I will put them aside and try to concentrate on my life, work, family, friends ? and enjoy my time while I am healthy.

Fire departments get animal-rescue kits

The Gnadenhutten and Tuscarawas-Warwick Volunteer fire departments each have received two animal rescue oxygen kits from Invisible Fence of Canton as part of their Project Breathe initiative.

The donations will be made during the March 19 Gnadenhutten Village Council meeting.

Fire department personnel will demonstrate how the equipment works.

The masks enable firefighters to administer oxygen to pets, rescued during fires, that are suffering from smoke inhalation. Project Breathe has donated more than 9,500 kits to fire stations in North America to date.

While statistics aren?t kept by the U.S. Fire Administration, an estimated 40,000 to 150,000 pets die in home fires each year, most from smoke inhalation, according to industry trackers.

Head of the different types of photography Portrait and Wedding ...

First Children and Babies

If the parents are there to help them relax. It will also provide them with something to play and entertain them. If you do not have some toys in their hands, even candy do anything to help them move and provide you with many different expressions and poses. The key here is to continue to take pictures, have lots of memory cards and batteries on hand and keep going. The perfect pose and expression Instant happen and you better be ready for it. This average will shoot great.

Second Animals

Owners or want pictures of your pets their own or with family. Pet portraits are like children and infants, you can not ask them to raise or keep expressions.

Most importantly, do not bother faffing about his client's life.

4th Group

Portraits of the bands is a very popular form of photography. However, in order to do well, you need to know your group and type of music they produce. This is not good, considering gritty, black and white photographs for violin quartet.

Talk to members of a group, they will have an idea what they are after, if not make some suggestions. Shooting concerts, lighting will be your biggest challenge. It will be dark, but often with very bright lights such as spotlights or strobes,,, which will be difficult to find the correct exposure. 5th Environmental Portraits

This photograph is not only about the person, it is about the whole scene and what it conveys about human life. They are usually combined with a 35mm lens instead of the classic 50mm. This helps add a lot more atmosphere and not to distort the object too much. It is important to speak to the issue and find out about them, so you can choose the best location, and objects to show them off.

Wedding photography can be a useful and pleasant company, and is a great way to let everyone know how good you are at shooting. They would like you to take clear, great pictures and a meaningless blurs. You need to ensure that you get those moments stain.

The first place to be outdoors where there is plenty of natural light, and your second point must be in the room using different lighting event of bad weather. Be sure you have your tripod with you and list the necessary shots.

Make sure you are aware of light. Capturing the moment can be enhanced with proper lighting. Since you can not control the lighting everywhere you go, wedding photography, the group must have men who care about the lights and reflectors, taking into account the requirements of the photographer shot. How to Save on Boat Insurance | Nil2Million

?

?

Boating is fun. There?s no getting around it. Those who love to hop into a boat for a day on the open water would rather be doing that than almost anything else. It is a pastime that seems to grow in popularity despite the cost that?s involved in owning and operating a boat. In addition to the cost of fuel, dock space, and other associated expenses, boaters must also pay for insurance. Following are a few tips on how to save money on boat insurance.

What Is Boat Insurance?

Like other forms of insurance, boat insurance protects you against unanticipated financial problems that may come up. It covers you if you?re involved in an accident, or if your boat is stolen or vandalized. Boat insurance will also give you financial protection if another person is injured while on your boat or if your boat causes damage to other people?s property.

Coverage Varies

The type and amount of boat insurance coverage varies a lot depending on the type of boat you have, how big the boat is, and what it?s used for. The larger your boat, the more it will cost to insure it. Sports-oriented boats will cost more, and boats that are used commercially will have additional insurance costs.

Multiple Boats

If you have more than one boat, you should insure all of them under one policy. This includes power boats, sailboats, and personal watercraft. You can save even more money if you combine your boat insurance with other vehicle policies, such as automobile or motorcycle insurance.

Safe Boating Course

Another way to save money on boat insurance is to take a safe boating course. Completing this course will let your insurance agent know that you?re qualified to operate the boat safely. If you allow other people to operate the boat, you will have to include them on the policy, and they should also take a safe boating course in order to help keep insurance costs down.

Avoid Insuring Young Operators

In order to keep your insurance costs down, you shouldn?t allow youngsters to operate the boat. Inexperienced operators are viewed as potentially prone to making errors that could end up damaging the boat, or injuring someone. If you don?t let young people operate the boat, you won?t have to claim them on your insurance policy, which will help keep costs down. By having only experienced operators listed on your insurance policy, you will get the best rates possible.

High Deductibles

As is the case with other types of insurance, you will be able to enjoy lower premiums if you carry high deductibles. Each boat you insure will carry a deductible, so you should be prepared in the event you have to file a claim by having the cash on hand to pay the deductible. Keep in mind that the insurance company won?t issue a check until the deductible is paid. A good way to make sure you have money available to pay the deductible on a claim is to open a savings account and earmark it for emergency use only. If you deposit money into the account on a regular basis, you will be assured to have money available to pay deductibles?and if you never have to file a claim the money will continue to draw interest.

Vandalism and Theft

If you want to lower the cost of insuring your boat against vandalism and theft, you should make sure you dock or store it in a secure area. The best way to keep your insurance costs low is to store the boat on your own property, preferably inside a garage or storage shed. If it is damaged or stolen while on your property, the damage or loss may be covered by your homeowner?s policy. Check with your insurance agent for details on whether it would be covered, or not.

Shop Around

Before you take out a policy on your boat, you should do a little shopping. Go on the Internet and get some quotes from online insurance companies. Use these quotes for comparison when you begin calling the more traditional brick and mortar agencies. Don?t forget to run those quotes past the agent you presently deal with?they may be willing to meet or beat the best price you?ve been quoted in order to keep your business.
